Concise Biography & Artist Statement

Dutch-Argentine artist Lorena Kloosterboer, born in 1962, creates paintings in the trompe l'oeil and photorealism styles. An irresistible attraction towards Realism challenges her to paint with great precision and tightly executed details. Lorena’s compositions are infused with symbolism, allowing the artist an essential freedom of expression to convey her thoughts and beliefs while implementing the meticulous techniques of Realism. Her paintings reveal a desire to capture the fascinating interactions between colors, light, shadows, textures and reflections, and unite them in visual poetry.

 

During her twenty-five year career Lorena’s artwork has been exhibited in galleries and art museums in Argentina, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands and the United States. Five of her bronze statues enjoy permanent public installation in the Netherlands.

Lorena Kloosterboer currently lives and works in Antwerp, Belgium.
