Stephen Fox

Biography

Stephen Fox was born in Oxford in 1954. He received no formal art training after fourth year at school. After a varied succession of jobs including two years as auxiliary nurse at Littlemore Mental Hospital, by 1981, he was a self-employed carpenter and builder, and began to carve (wood, at first) in 1985. In 1990, he moved to France, and began to work mainly with limestone and marble. He is now based in Oxford again.
